eOceans reaches milestone as participants spread across 25 countries and calls for a new approach to ocean science and the sharing of ocean resources during this pandemic.

Following conversations with ocean researchers, businesses, and explorers around the world eOceans founder, Dr. Christine Ward-Paige, wrote an article promoting a new approach to ocean science, monitoring, the sharing of research resources and knowledge, and pushing forward our capacity to study the ocean.

“All Hands on Deck: Now is the Time to Set the Path Towards a Thriving Blue Economy”, which is available on Medium, describes the need for a rapid and radical redistribution and democratization of ocean knowledge and science resources to grow the blue economy while saving ocean health and lives. The thinking is that the COVID-19 pandemic is the perfect opportunity to finally create this path that we desperately need where all hands are working on deck to make this happen.
